DESIGN CONSULTANCY – CATALOGUE – STATOIL ART AWARD 2009

As part of the Norwegian oil company’s “Heroes of Tomorrow” program, our young and talented intern Steffen Kørner Ludvigsen was chosen to design the Statoil art award 2009 catalogue. An active collector of contemporary art, Statoil with the award wishes to celebrate young and emerging artists. The catalogue was published before the winner was announced, presenting them and their work on equal terms. The nominees were Ida Ekblad, Marius Engh, Anawana Haloba and Lars Laumann; Laumann took the prize home. More about the award, jury, contributors, etc, at Statoil. The book accompanied an exhibition of the same name at Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo, in November 2009.

The catalogue was one of the first major printed projects with the new Statoil graphic identity by Scandinavian Design Group. The typefaces Statoil Sans and Statoil Display were designed by Melkeveien.
