FJORDS MAGAZINE, “ON TOUR” ISSUE

I was Editor of Art for the prize-winning fashion and lifestyle magazine by Pauline Nærholm and Per Heimly from 2003 until its was discontinued in 2006. It was distributed in 16 countries.

My concept for the art pages in this issue, entitled “Tesseract”, was travelling in dimensions and time. I used a stream-of-consciousness approach instead of traditional articles, I wrote lists of things that come to mind when I contemplate at the artists’ work.

The title “Tesseract” is inspired by the beloved childrens’ book A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. The tesseract, or a “wrinkle in time”, is used in the book as a means for travel in space and time. The tesseract is also a fourth dimension, a hyperstate. Through the art pages, and the consumption of art in general, the reader goes on a journey of the mind.
